Most people think mopping does an adequate job, but the grout sits lower than the tile, causing the dirt and grease to accumulate there creating the perfect environment for bacteria to live and breed.

Microscopic pores in natural stone and grout lines allow dirt and other contaminants to become trapped below the surface, where they cannot be removed with regular mopping. The dirt continues to build up inside those pores, leaving grout looking dark, dirty and discolored.
